How Tally Insight collects, uses, and protects your information.
Tally Insight is operated from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and software application, how we use it, and your rights.
The most important point: your Tally financial data never leaves your machine. Tally Insight is a local desktop application that reads from your local Tally installation and stores reports in a local database on your PC. We have no access to your ledgers, vouchers, party names, GST data, or any other financial information in Tally.
We collect your name, email address, and phone number through Razorpay. This is used to create your customer record, issue your license key, and provide support.
The application sends us your license key and a hardware fingerprint — a SHA256 hash derived from your CPU identifier and MAC address. This is used to bind the license to your machine and cannot be reversed to identify your hardware. We also log your Windows hostname, username, and OS version for support purposes.
The application calls our license server to verify your license. We log the timestamp, license key, and the result. This log is retained for 90 days then automatically deleted.
Standard web server logs may include your IP address and pages visited. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising profiling.
All data processing happens on your PC. No financial data is transmitted to our servers at any time. This is a permanent architectural principle, not a temporary design choice.
All payments are processed by Razorpay. We never store your card number, CVV, bank account, or UPI ID. After a successful payment we receive only your name, email, phone, and a Razorpay payment reference ID.

We retain customer records for as long as your account is active. License and activation records are retained for 3 years after the last active subscription. Verification logs are deleted after 90 days.
